FASHION MAGAZINE MAY 2014 ISSUE : COVER BATTLE

Mad of Thrones This month covers are pretty much the same of last month (GoT, Mad Men, movies promo) except for this mess. And it’s a sad news in prints magazine when we heard that THIS MESS broke sales records beating Beyonce and Michelle Obama previous covers. This month Vogue choose to feature Emma Stone while promoting the super-production ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ . Wtv. Game of Thrones and Mad Men win this month battle by striking 5 top covers ( Well done Nikolaj Coster-Waldau!) Again Camillia Clarke and Elizabeth Moss are the biggest stars. The other top covers are Marie Claire who strike three B+ List star and one A-Lister (Lupita ‘the great’). This multi-covers thing is badass. Lupita ‘ the great’ in the middle.   This Months Top Covers:   The 5 Hollywood girl of 2014. Elle Fanning, Kate Mara, Lupita ‘the great’ Nyong’o, Elizabeth Olsen, and Camillia Clarke on the Marie Claire 4 covers. Marie Claire US taps promising actress for this month issue. FASHION MAGAZINE APRIL 2014 ISSUE : COVER BATTLE

Let me tell you a little story : I woke on saturday 22 March morning, and I am about to write an intro for this post. But this morning I woke up so so fucking annoyed!!! This months magazine battle was going pretty well. For once every cover were pretty much relevant. Game of Thrones were quietly but strongly promoting their new season, graces us with 3 covers this months. Perfect. Mad men and Girls were also starring this month. Absolutely great. Angie Jo as Maleficent is stunning. Even Justin Bieber on Rolling Stone didn’t bother me at all. But then this happened. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK ! And the Internet went through a mental seizure for a second. I hate them for forcing me to feature them on my cover battle. This Month top covers : This month is big on launching.  Game Of Thrones is the big winner of this month battle ; Mad Men is second. Big movies like Maleficent are in the loop too and they have started their promo tour since december so they’re well prepare. …

FASHION MAGAZINE DECEMBER 2013 ISSUE : COVER BATTLE

My favourite blogger quote : Kerry Washington for Lucky. ” I am sure the plan was, “Let’s put Kerry Washington on the cover because America is obsessed with her right now,” and not, “Let’s put Kerry Washington on the cover and make her look like she’s suffering through menstrual cramps and an extreme cobweb attack while someone blows a wind cannon at her that’s making it impossible for her to open her eyes.”_Go Fug Yourself Hello There !! I am very happy to celebrate the December cover issue because it’s my 12th cover battle post and this means It the celebration of the One Year Anniversary of this blog. Hip Hip Hurra !! I cannot believe I haven’t gave up. But how could I ? It’s been so much fun to share with you on this so fascinating topic that is Entertainment. It’s a One Year of gossiping, analyzing, criticizing ( bitching) and sometimes sleeping less than 5 hours a day to finish a blog post. I also enjoy the passion of blogging, the pleasure of sharing …

Fashion Magazine September Issue : The Big Battle

THERE IS NOTHING BIGGER THAN THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE. The September issue is always the cover to watch of the year.  The advantage is for the magazine and of course the brands that features the issue because of advertising. And also for the celebrity or the supermodels that strike the cover depending on the notoriety of the magazine. Most of the time it generate good communication for the product that the celebrity support, a new album (Katie Perry) a new movie ( Amber Heard, Diana) or it can help boost an entire career (Jennifer Lawrence, Selena Gomez, Blake Lively) .  The fashion books, as well as some other categories, are the exception to industry-wide advertising declines (WWD).  And as every year the biggest cover is of course the Vogue issue. And this year Jennifer Lawrence made it. September’s advertising page totals came the usual hyperbolic boasts from publishers eager to wow female readers, advertisers and the press. In 2012, Vogue had its biggest September advertising haul, 658 pages, since the flush days of 2008. And in terms of advertising, from 171 for …

Fashion Magazine July & August 2013 Issue : Cover Battle

I’ve been a bit late later on updating my blog. But hey I do have a good excuse : moving in Paris and starting a new job ARE good excuses isn’t it? Well it looks like I wasn’t the only one being late this month, every mag were late too (hey I don’t blame them, interns have to do all the job by themselves while managers are on vacation). Anyway so here my selection of best / worst boring, entertaining magazines covers of July and August. There’s no excitement and nothing blows out but it’s pretty normal nothing happened lately since the mastectomy of Angie Jo so Mags have to sell their shit by selling some good old sexy blond chicks whoring up their ass! So No Kimye, No Angie, No Jenni Law,. UPDATE: my bad yes of course something happened the duchess Kate birth out the new prince of England and I really can’t wait to see which mag will get the honor to make the Royal cover.   My favourite of this month …

Fashion Magazine February Issue : Cover Battle (decoded)

Update ! Beyonce on GQ Cover It’s the last minute cover that just went out today! Bey on the cover of GQ by Terry Richardson. It is for sure a very sexy cover a bit Rihanna Look-a-like (Remember Rihanna’s December cover half naked ?). It’s perfectly in time for Beyonce that will be performing at the 2013 Super Bowl which airs on Feb. 3. ( look at the super mini T-shirt she’s wearing, is it a footballer shirt?). Jessica Chastain on the InStyle February Issue The new Chastain is learning how to play the game. Jessica Chastain is predicted for an Oscar nomination for Best Actress ( Zero Dark Thirty ) so she has to upgrade her image a bit and became a real Hollywood star, not just an actress. She also needs to enhance her fashion potential and sell more than just acting skills: It’s sad that the Hollywood system doesn’t let young actresses JUST be actresses at this point, they also have to have some personal stuff to sell, some drama, some fashion sense, and they have …
