Fashion Magazine February Issue : Cover Battle (decoded)

Update ! Beyonce on GQ Cover It’s the last minute cover that just went out today! Bey on the cover of GQ by Terry Richardson. It is for sure a very sexy cover a bit Rihanna Look-a-like (Remember Rihanna’s December cover half naked ?). It’s perfectly in time for Beyonce that will be performing at the 2013 Super Bowl which airs on Feb. 3. ( look at the super mini T-shirt she’s wearing, is it a footballer shirt?). Jessica Chastain on the InStyle February Issue The new Chastain is learning how to play the game. Jessica Chastain is predicted for an Oscar nomination for Best Actress ( Zero Dark Thirty ) so she has to upgrade her image a bit and became a real Hollywood star, not just an actress. She also needs to enhance her fashion potential and sell more than just acting skills: It’s sad that the Hollywood system doesn’t let young actresses JUST be actresses at this point, they also have to have some personal stuff to sell, some drama, some fashion sense, and they have …

The BC review : Critic of “$ellebrity” Documentary

Here’s a new documentary $ellebrity  on the biggest Hollywod industry: the Celebrity. The movie hits theaters on January 11th.  I recently read a juicy critics by Lainey Gossip. She shared strong opinion on the film and I am going to comment it. Did I told you how much I love Lainey? She’s one of my fav gossip columnist (after Michael K a.k.a Dlisted of course). I adore so much her gossip website (except for the ugly pink front) because of her unique style and her approach to the celebrity and media. It’s not a stupid gossip blog, she has leverage the gossip industry giving proof that the industry of celebrity/media/entertainment is more complex and more insightfull than the common people think it is or think it’s not. She has the ability to show every aspect of the celebrity culture and the impact in our culture. Lainey wrote her classic Intro for December 19, 2012 [1] on $ellebrity , the documentary about the commodification of Celebrity and the power of paparazzi. She said the doc is …

Fashion Magazine January Issue : Cover Battle

Marion Cotillard for Elle Quebec. With 3 covers last month (The Hollywood Reporter; W magazine and Harper Bazaar) Marion dominates the celebrity cover battle. With her authentic and bright personality  and her french attitude (see how she was relax and self confident during the ‘actress round table’ by THR unlike her Oscar opponent and Diva-ish Anne Hattaway). I predict that Marion will definitely glow this year at the Oscar/Golden Globes no matter she wins an award or not. Gwen Stefani is definetly back on top with two covers, Marie Claire UK & Vogue. Look at how she looks rocky & shinny. Gwen Stefani never lost her true essence that mix a perfect sense of fashion styling and rock attitude while (trying) to renew herself with her silent but reasonable come back. Paz de La Huerta for Playboy. The sexy nude cover of the month. Because we all need one good nude cover and Playboy knows that sexy and nude sells very well during Xmas times ( wondering why). Who better than PAZ could be that …

Fashion Magazine December Issue : Cover battle

This Month magazines was about Oscars contenders battle. (Almost) Every cover puts an Oscars candidate on them and my selection has been 99% feminine. [1] The Hollywood Reporter presents 7 actresses contenders for Oscars nomination: Rachel Weisz, Amy Adams, Marion Cotillard, Naomi Watts, Anne Hathaway, Sally Field, and Helen Hunt. (JustJared). But as we know only 5 will be nominated, and there’s no guarantee it will be 5 exclusively from this group. (Laineygossip) [2] Bazaar goes with “The power and passion of Marion Cotillard”. Marion Cotillard represent her new french movie rust&bone. They missed award at Cannes but we hope they’ll get something on the Oscar. [3] Keira Knigthley for Flare. Representing Anna Karenina. [4] Halle Berry is gorgeous on NYT. Representing Cloud Atlas. [5] Anne Hathaway, on Vogue representing Les Miserables. “ We Get It, Anne Hathaway, We Get It; looking like a drunk Liza Minnelli and in the interview she talks about how she knew she had the role of Fantine ten seconds after her audition. Can they just give Anne her Oscar …
