Justin Bieber Girlfriend’s Fragrance (Analysis)

NEW! Damnnnnnnnnnn !! I have to admit the Bieber marketing team is bright. Look at this commercial it’s sweet & simple, the core message is clear, seriously can’t you be his girlfriend more than this? Every tween between 7 to lets say …22 girls AND boys will see themselves touching Bieber’s neck in this commercial . No wonder that this fragrance is going to sell like HELL ! About two months ago I’ve read this really interesting New-Yoker paper called TEEN TITAN about Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun empire (Considering an article “really interesting” when its main subject is Bieber is legitimate only because the magazine is New Yorker right!?). Anyway, this paper describes very well what is the Bieber Fever and the ingredients of a success-Youtube-story. Bieber came to fame as a musical prodigy—his first “hits” were unadorned YouTube clips of him singing and playing instruments—but, these days, his power as a global brand overshadows his reputation as an artist. “I don’t think Adele is selling perfume.” The power of Bieber or siblings such as …

The Twilight Saga Fine Jewelry Collection

Since the end of November it looks like every advertising is about ‘Love’ ‘Family’ ‘Friendship’ and ‘Hapiness’. But here it’s the quintessance of the deep-true-love-bulshit-soulmate with the Bed Bath & Beyond “ The Twilight Saga Fine Jewelry Collection.” campaign. And again this is Dlisted that describes this BS jewerly campaign better. The Twatlight diamond ring is the perfect ring for a Twihard who can’t get a man and isn’t ashamed of it. Clearly ! Lets be serious here who wants to buy anything from this ads. Bed Bath & Beyond Marketing team didn’t even bother using Photoshop and build a new concept around love and engagement ring. NO ! They just used the Twillight movie poster, used paint, make it in black & white and add a mediocre tittle saying that they Honoring the Twillight love story. Whaaaaat!?! What is it to be honoured here ? A teenage ‘trampire’ and fictive love story?! COME ON!!!! I can’t wait to see the commercial for this and here is Dlisted anti-fan fiction version of it: Just imagine a woman lying …

Charlotte Gainsbourg new face of Tommy Hilfiger. Campaing shot by Drew Barrymore.

Gainsbourg and Drew Barrymore, two fashionistas with high recongition  join their force to promote the brand’s new limited-edition handbag, launched to raise money for charity Breast Health International Source : WWD & Vogue Uk Yeah Drew Barrymore is a photograph now. You know all those celebs need a way to reinvent themselves constantly and Drew tried for a long time to find her way as a film director which hasn’t been such a big success. But from the brand side, engaging two celebrity actresses instead of just one is a good deal ! And Charlotte & Drew are real good fit for the brand. Tommy Hilfiger gives us here the perfect picture of two moms having an insightful discussion on breast cancer issues.  Great story I would say. Yeah well…We all know it’s the perfect pretext to promote C. Gainsbourg new songs and Tommy bags in this video but we still buy it.

Annnnnnnnd there’s a part #2 !

Yes there is a second part to this Chanel x Brad Pitt messy collaboration. Basically they used the same Brad Pitt standing in front of the same grey background telling the same artist wannabe speech shit BUT they add some “visual special effects”. And by “special effects” I mean : a woman walking on rivers like she is the messiah or weird image of a woman smiling or dead (I’m not sure) in a bottle of what it seams to be a bottle of Chanel 5 fragrance. WEIRD ! WEIRD! As Michael K’s from Dlisted wrote, “Brad Pitt, and that mess of a commercial made my eyes bleed cheese”. He then add, ” I’ve never EVER wanted to buy a bottle of Chanel No. 5, but I might now, because it’s obvious who ever was in charge of making this wreck freebased that stankness for inspiration and I want to be that buzzed!”. I can’t agree more. Why did they not stick themselves to good old prints campaign? This one would’ve done the job very well! …

Julia Roberts x Lancôme : Allegory of the Cave

Julia Roberts has been spokesperson for Lancôme since 2010 and she will always and forever be the perfect chose for the L’Oreal prestige brand. Remember that Lancôme made a huge mistake in a campaign last year with Roberts while they used digitally retouched images? Well they’re now back with the actress endorsing a perfume. Julia is absolutely STUNNING! (Beware! My analysis is absolutely subjective and fanatic oriented). _”In a world full of diktats and conventions could there be another way?” You’re asking it right Julia ! In this video. Julia, now a brunette (omjayy!!), embodies the image of beauty perfection with enlightened conscience. Julia (and Lancôme) are talking about freedom and enjoying life. What a wonderfull world…you tell me! _”La vie est belle” I Love and will always love Julia Roberts, I can’t even remember the moment I first adored her. I don’t like her particularly because of her acting skills, neither because she played a hooker who suddenly felt in love with a rich old pepaw guy (a.k.a Richard Gere), which for the instance I …

MILA KUNIS * MISS DIOR

After their failed contract with Nathalie Portman ( alias The Swan Princess according to Vulture’ list (I’m addicted)), remember she broke her contract with Dior right after the big John Galliano’s scandal last year? The perfume brand comes back with Mila Kunis the Swan Queen alternate just like in the movie. Miss Dior’ marketing team hasn’t work too hard to find this one (» _ “Nathalie wants to quit? Well ask the other black swan brunette… what’s her name again? Im sure that’s exactly how it went). Thanks to the newVulture 100 most valuable stars  list lets make a little fun portrait of our two beloved ‘Black-Swaners’: #35 Nathalie Portman “The Swan Princess “ […] She[Nathalie]  exhibited qualities that would come to define her: an innocent beauty, a fragile temperament hidden behind a tough exterior, and an intelligence beyond her years. An Oscar nomination for Closer helped, but in 2010, Portman hit a career high with ballet psycho-thriller Black Swan, opposite BFF Mila Kunis, for which she won an Academy Award (she also took …

Alexander Skarsgard x Calvin Klein Cologne

Alexander Skarsgard is the New Face of Calvin Klein Cologne Apparently, we’re not the only ones excited, either: Calvin Klein announced today that Bon Temps’ sexiest vampire, Alexander Skarsgard, is the face of their new men’s fragrance Encounter, WWD is reporting. The print ad (above) will be accompanied by a TV spot, both of which will break in September and both of which will costar the lovely Lara Stone. Steven Klein shot the campaign, which Skarsgard described as “very film noir,” and marketing guru Fabien Baron gave creative direction.
