Yesterday Beyonce a.k.a Queen B got  us all. She hogged the whole Internet conversation, I almost thought she bought the entire Google advertising space available.

She absolutely took her brand, her music, her empire to another level this time !

The walls of Facebook crumbled and fell. Twitter burst into a flame ball and I’m pretty sure that Twitter bird is nothing but a pile of charred blue feathers now. Tumblr is covered in throbbing, pus-filled hives from the BumbleBeys going crazy and stinging everything. Shit, I even think MySpace felt a quake or two. The Internet exploded when the benevolent Beyonce gifted the world with a new album out of nowhere. [Dlisted]

In an original marketing move, yesterday morning Beyoncé released her fifth album, with 30s videos preview for EACH song and the totality of it available on ITUNES only (Well played Apple!). And she did all of this with no warning, no campaigns, no interviews and zero promo. Just 10 days before Christmas !! Such a smart move !

She did it. Way better than Kanye WestWhile the crazy bitch is still farting crazy shit about how he’s the next Mandela , Beyonce five-upped his ass last night.

Only Beyonce, can do Beyonce.

Can we say that God is a black woman ?

It’s like Beyonce suddenly woke up in her gold bedroom and said to her husband Jay-z ” Hey babe, how about I release an album today ?” . To what she probably added “Hey ! We could make 30 videos  so that album doesn’t look like shit”. Yep and just like that she showed everyone how to beat every marketers ass.

Queen B’s strategy in 3 points :

  • No Cd, No Promo, No Teaser. She did nothing. No press, no hype, no previews, no Justin Timberlake teasers to teasers to trailers…Just Beyonce by Beyonce. With this album she broke every rules by selling it only in a digital form.
  • She scrapped nearly everything she had recorded earlier. What’s interesting here is that B already had an album to promote all over this year. She did a worldwide tour, put so much money and did so much communication around it.  
  • A “visual album”. Usually videos are a material of choice to communicate on an album. In general the more you have videos for an album the longest you can promote it during the year. B broke with  this rule by releasing all videos in one shot. 

I didn’t want to release my music the way I’ve done it. I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There’s so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn’t want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans.”_ Beyonce
