Leonardo DiCaprio for Tag Heuer

This is an old advertising from February 2012 of Leo for an expensive watch. Perfect match. Yes, I think it’s a perfect image of him waiting for his time to come. Leonardo Dicaprio is still waiting for his big moment. Poor Leo, he has been snubbed by the Academy by not being nominated for his amazing role in Django Unchained. Everyone agreed that he was spectacular in the new Tarantino movie were he played the bad guy surprisingly well. This time, He tried a different role by not playing a tortured hero.( dramatic young adult ca se dit pas). But still, 2013 will not be his year. Weird when you think that Leo is an A++ actor who worked with Hollywood’s big name such as James Cameron, Steven Spielberg, and Christopher Nolan. He is also known as Scorsese’s muse and since Titanic he managed his career like a real pro. So I am wondering: Why is Leo an underdog in the field? Is it because of his ”young” boy’s face that the Academy never took him serious ? Does he have to grow a beard to be considered like a real man?!?

Back in 2004 he won best actor for Departed but wasn’t in the Oscar list. In 2006 he was nominated for lead actor in Blood Diamond but still nothing. 2008 was the more prolific year he has been nominated 6 times for his role in Revolutionary role but won only for the Golden Globes and the critics choices and again no Oscar. His last role in the Clint Eastwood movie J.Edgar was a total fail, no one heard of it and was overshadowed  by the “The Artist” phenomenon.

Plus ! Since a couple of years Leo isn’t LEO anymore. I mean he is not the sexy lover Leo back in the time of Titanic or Romeo + Juliette. Yes he was our Justin Bieber at the time girls admit it !

He was perfect. Zac Efron? Harry Styles? JUSTIN BIEBER!? No heart throb since can come close to Sexy Leo. (laineygossip )

His work as an actor has remained good, obviously, but the movies he chooses to act in are collectively just so f-cking boring. Catch Me If You Can, The Aviator, The Departed, Blood Diamond, all individually good flicks but together these roles cast an overwhelming shadow of boredom and depression on Dicaprio. None of this has been helped by the fact that after all this time he still seems to unbelievably hurt by his role as a celebrity.

So when is it going to be his time ? Probably next year with The Great Gatsby. And look the entire High Hollywood class is already supporting him.
